What We Believe
This statement does not contain every Bible doctrine we embrace. It is a brief statement that answers the questions most frequently asked about our doctrine and policies. For a more complete statement of our beliefs, click here.
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It Is His message to all ages and every circumstance. The Bible is to be studied, believed and obeyed. It is the basis for all subject matter we teach. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28: 19)
We believe that God became flesh in the Person of Jesus Christ. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Matthew 1:18-25)
We believe that Christ came to earth for the purpose of reconciling man to God. Sinful man is not able to relate to a holy God except through Christ. Christ, in His death on the cross, paid the penalty for sin, (The wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23). Every person who accepts Christ as personal Savior is spared punishment for his own sin (Romans 8:1) and given eternal life. (John 3:l6; Romans 3:23, 24)
We believe that after His crucifixion, Christ rose from the dead and entered Heaven, (Luke 24:1-8, 24) His glorified, resurrected body is the pattern of the body that ultimately will be given to all believers. (1 Corinthians 15:35-49) He now represents all Christians and intercedes for them with the Father. (I John 2:1)
We believe that God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of life who draws us to Christ, unites us with Him by faith in the Lord Jesus, and who assures the believer of God’s acceptance and forgiveness. (Romans 8:14-17) The Spirit personally indwells each believer when they come to faith in Christ. (Ephesians 1:11-13) It is the Spirit who empowers the believer to live a holy life, as He produces Christ-likeness in those who follow and cooperate with Him. The Holy Spirit gives each believer spiritual gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13) Since not each believer can have the same spiritual gift (1 Corinthians 12:29-30), we all are dependent upon one another for the proper functioning of the Church. The proper exercise of spiritual gifts result in unity, humility, obedience, and maturity: never in pride or division.
